The Cavs’ weekend started a little rough with the Varsity Football team losing 39-6 on the road vs. 3-0 Madeira. It was a case of Murphy’s Law for the Cavs Friday night as nothing seemed to go their way. The story was a little different on Saturday morning though as the Cavaliers JV Football avenged their varsity counterpart’s loss with a 34-21 victory over Madeira’s JV team. Sophomore running back Jesse Jenkins was the primary playmaker in the game with four touchdowns on the ground for the Cavs.
Both the girls’ and boys’ teams faced off versus Clark Montessori on Saturday afternoon with only one being named the victor. The boys took care of business with a 2-1 win over the Cougars. Sophomore Brandon Little and Senior Jared Baldock scored goals for the Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers Girls JV Soccer team is only in its second year of existence and has already taken on the challenge of playing varsity squads. They lost Saturday’s game versus the cougars 6-0. Although still winless, the team has made strides from where they were at this point last year. Participation is up as the roster has doubled from what it was a year ago.
Cavaliers Volleyball took the road on Saturday afternoon to face Hamilton for the second time this year. The Big Blues won in three straight sets but the Cavs played hard until the final point.
